As much as I love the "first million gold pieces" story, "Don't bite me" is a classic. 327.

329. While Goblin Dan's is pretty funny, I have to give my vote to "Encyclopedia Belkarrica" and "but let the duckie go."

326! Whenever I introduce someone to the strip, I first show them 325 and 326.

One comic always tells the truth, but the other comic always points at 327!

Dang . . . these are all god.
But I'll have to go with 329.

I'm thinking 327, just barely. That is by far the most ingenious and awesome solution to that puzzle.

327 "Gordium called, they have a knot you may want to look at"

Tough choice, but I think I'll go with 327.

Goblin Dan and the Test of the Heart are both great, so I'm going to hold off on voting for a bit until I see which one can use the votes more.

327, 328 and 329 are all awesome.

However, I will go with "Gordium called, they have a knot you may want to look at", so 327 it is!

Encyclopedia Belkarica and scared Haley and V at the prospect of revealing their secrets are close second and third.

327 for Haley's reaction to V.

327. She definitely did NOT shoot you and I completely expected that.

Was a harder choice than of late though

326 for the win! "Look at me - I'm Robespierre!"

That was probably one of the most brilliant pieces of writing in OotS based on the context it was used in.

What a sequence! Rich outdid himself here.

I think he reached a peak in the third one, which wasn't quite surpassed in the fifth.
So it's 328 for me.

What! Nobody else likes the 330? 330 will cry itself to sleep, huddling in a damp corner, all alone... No, wait, at least it will get my vote!

That's a tough one between 327 and 328 for me.

Hmm, I'll go with 328; both the first and last panel are crazy fun.

327, I remember laughing my head of first time I read it.

I'm surprised how few people are going for the belkar joke. Considering most of the voted best a re belkar jokes.

Ok, the others are pretty good, maybe better than some of the winners so far, but 330 is just completely superior.

My vote goes to #326. I simply love slightly (or not so slightly) absurd humor.

Hmm, Nazzo, you give people 3 days to vote, but then don't start up the next Sticks Awards until 5-7 days later. Okay, np if you don't have the time to put up a new Awards post every 3 days, but in that case why not give voters the full time between strips?

If we have 3 days of voting and 3 days of nothing where the people who take the time to decide which of the 5 they like best and then vote get the hard end of the stick because their vote doesn't count any more, I think it damages the overall interest in and interest of the Sticks Awards. Please reconsider either to a) poll is open until your closing post, b) poll runs for 5 days or c) you post a new round every 3-4 days.

In other news, I vote 327.

I used to teach (as a substitute teacher) and learned very quickly to have a stack of Brain Teasers handy if and when the kids finished the work left by their regular teacher.

A few kids used non-linear thinking, and came up with some pretty original answers. I also had a "Poison Pill" question that stumped AP Math whizzes, that one of my 6th Graders solved in ten seconds!

I considered that myself, kukn, and I am thinking about it as we speak. The problem I find is that some polls can run longer than others, and this would not be a perfect situation, statistically and "mathematically" speaking. I, for one, think that the polls will have different weights if they don't have the same timespan.

Also, most of the time, I manage to close the poll and put up a new one in the 3rd or 4th day after. And people usually don't vote in it after the declared end of the poll in the first post (these last ones were exceptions since this format came in).

Another argument against extending the life of a poll is that, by previous experiences, they suffered from lack of attention by the posters after the 3rd day. The thread tend to fall off to the 2nd page because of this. So, I figured that 3 days was a good time to keep the noise up all the time.

Anyways, thanks. It's always refreshing to hear from someone seeking to improve. That means you people really like the Awards!

Given the relatively low participation of such polls, I don't think you need to worry about statistic significance overly much

Ehm, quite the reverse. If you have a small sample set any 'error' introduced become much more important (i.e. people randomly turning up after 3 days and voting counts as error here)

Very funny. And the best solution to an age old question. Plus its awesome to see V get deflated.
