So before the "casters are always best, casters are the only thing that beat casters," discourse starts, I just want some help with some particular aspects of a build. I use Spheres of Power and Spheres of Might extensively, and for this, I plan to use the Impossible Warrior and Runesinger archetypes for the Fighter. Impossible Warrior is a very anti-caster archetype, it can parry spells and spell-like abilities, and this is a single-combat focused character, so 1/round isn't that big of a deal. Runesinger is simply a complimentary archetype, giving martial talents and rune abilities.

Impossible Warrior/Runesinger Fighter 3-5
Lancer Sphere (Impale makes it hard to cast or escape)
While my tendency would be to pump Strength and Con, then have middling Dex and Wis, and have as much armor as I can without sacrificing speed (Piecemeal for +8 AC, +4 Max Dex, -6 Pen woot), is there a Dex-to-Damage achievable in these levels? Another inb4, I know about the X-to-Y document, but it doesn't have 3rd party like DSP, or anything recent for that matter.
Saves seem like they will be okay, but also spell parrying should hopefully keep me from requiring them too often.

What are some other tools I could use to make this a more potent magekiller build?

Well, since you're using third party the simple option is just take Deadly Agility (https://www.d20pfsrd.com/alternative-rule-systems/path-of-war/feats/deadly-agility-combat/) from Path of War. Finesse Fighting (http://spheresofpower.wikidot.com/equipment-sphere#toc15) from SoM is also a decent option depending on your level.

Ooh thank you, I forgot all about that feat!
So with that, I'll definitely be going Dex, I can use an Estoc and have some great Reflex saves. Anything for shoring up Will then?

If the Lance sphere requires a polearm, the feat Polearm Dancer (https://www.d20pfsrd.com/alternative-rule-systems/path-of-war/feats/polearm-dancer-combat/) will let you finesse polearms or Spears and can be combined with Deadly Agility.

Funnily enough, it explicitly does not require a polearm, or even a weapon that deals piercing damage :smalltongue: although I tend to build it with a piercing weapon at least.

What's your best mental stat? There are a few class dips that could get you Cha or Int to Will saves, for instance. Path of War classes, mostly.

Or (or additionally) you could be a Dwarf. Hardy with Steel Soul is an additional +4 to all saves against spells and SLAs.

Hmm, best mental stat could kinda be anything? As is I put it as Wisdom(14) because the Half-Hobgoblin gives +2 to Dex and Con, with a Cha penalty, which is pretty much ideal racials. Also free Improved Initiative helps get the drop on casters. I don't think dipping would be a good idea, especially working with this few levels, and considering the Impossible Warrior scales directly off class level. The dwarf would be decent though... I wonder if there is a way to gain a dwarf trait by choosing dwarf as my subtype for half-hobgoblin?
