Sentinel on a Vengeance paladin.

G'day all.

Is sentinel a bit redundant on a MC Vengeance Pally with booming blade and Warcaster, and the Soul of vengeance feature? I know that it only comes matters after lvl 16 at the earliest, but it seems that BB covers the stopping movement part, and Soul of Vengeance covers the AoO for hitting a mate, albeit only on one target per short rest.
I'm still a long way off that level, but I can see any redundancy annoying me. Or am I over thinking it?

I would not advise taking Sentinel if you already have Warcaster / BB.

There are much more useful things you can do with your ASIs.

Do you have comrades foolish enough to follow you in melee?

I find a paladin's aura of protection, sometimes "convinces" others they'll be safe as long as the paladin is there.

Coupled with shield of faith and plate armor... A paladin might be ignored in melee... but that dumb rogue next the paladin looks like a nice target

Sentinel is team based. Who else is in the party will tell you if it is worth taking
