Maximillians Earthen Grasp is a combat oriented spell but I was wondering if it could be used in additional utility ways? In critical role it was used to dig a hole for a grave, was this allowed by the dm for thematic reasons or is it an actual use? I知 curious because if that type of use is allowed then I値l want to see if I can use the hand as a platform to help me climb a 10ft ledge.

RAW, no. Earthen Grasp is only capable of grabbing, moving, or attacking something it is grabbing.

But as a DM, I'd just make it do anything Mold Earth is capable of.
