Xykons crown, Fryron and SOD spoilers

Refer back to the strip where Xykon gets his crwon back (I cant remember the number). Roy says 'that was worth killing Fyron AND HIS SON for' Fryrons son, dead and living was never mentioned anywhere at all. As far as Im aware Xykon smashed in Fryrons head, animated him and flew off with the crown. Whats with this new found son? (and if he had a son already whats with the whole Eugene is his assisstant, why not his son?)

I'm sure Xykon kill many people along the way... who knows. There wasn't a whole background battle on that.

Maybe Fryon's son was a fighter. :smallwink: (Or a specialist in a different magical field, or a merchant, or a politician, or...)

Maybe Rich originally had a different vision of how the backstory would be told, but even with the SOD depictions it's not too much of a stretch to imagine that Fryon's son either was killed the same night before Eugene walked in on the fight, or tried to go after Xykon later and was killed. (For all his pomposity, Eugene could be really damn clueless at times, take how after being told that a young Roy scored 3 goals in a game and that the final score was 3-2 he still asks if Roy's team won. It wouldn't be terribly surprising Fryon's son had been more competent in attempting to avenge his father and found Xykon where Eugene failed).

Eugene stumbled on Xykon already at a standoff with Fyron; Xykon might have killed Fyron's son BEFORE that scene (on the way in), but Eugene didn't know until afterward.

At any rate, it probably wasn't important enough for Eugene to mention to Roy, but Roy might have found out about it doing his own research.

I dunno. Maybe the son was defying Fyron's wishes by becoming a fighter. :smallwink:

Or he planned to raise him, just like Eugene planned to simply raise Fryon.

Eugene doesn't get upset until Fryon was raised as a zombie.
