First of all, a few warnings:
I don’t really know as much about the system as I would like to.
Both 3.5 and Pathfinder materials are allowed.
The DM is very flexible. The objective is to make a really strong character. Kobolds can be True Dragons. Epic Feats lv 3.
Now that this has been explained, this thread is for the discussion of a character build:
I am building a lv. 6 character, and got inspired by a few older threads to make a dragon! Or, at least, a kobold dragon. This means I have access to three feats.
The basics: The character is going to be a Dragonwrought kobold (1st feat), because of course; and a really old one. 2nd feat, Loredrake for the sweet sweeeeeet sorcerer spells jump (It also works with Arcane caster. Keep reading, you will understand). I haven’t chosen a third feat yet. Will probably be going after an Epic or Flight one.
I am still not sure if I want to spend the gold for a dragonpact. After reading the Dragon magic book, I am still not sure how it can “up the sorcerer level” like the Loredrake feat can.
About equipment, no items in mind so far. There is enough money for something nice (16k gold). But that what older threads have focused about. I bring something new to the discussion: freedom of classes!
Curiously, the explanation of the “freedom” starts with a limitation: There are only 4 classes allowed: Warrior, Specialist, Divine caster and Arcane caster. Don’t know any of those names? Good. They are DIY classes.
Basically, you build the class. Each one has a different HD, skill ranks per level, number of spells (casters only), and etc. Yet, they have no features (sneak attack, extra feats, abyssal bloodline’s claws). They have feature slots! You may choose a certain number of features (4 per level for Warrior, for example) from official/3rd party Pathfinder or 3.5 classes, and build the class. Restrictions?
-The features need to be gained in the same level as they are in their original classes.
-Features that “upgrade” have to be picked again to suffer the change at the level they are supposed to change (sneak attack, for example).
-The feature has to be picked up from a class of the same “type” as the one chosen. Example: A righter’s feature can’t be applied in the Arcane Caster DIY class while a sorcerer’s can. It has to “make sense”.
-Prestige classes are allowed, but must fit the restriction above.
-Archetype features are also allowed.
Yes. You can stack things that are not supposed to stack. Yes, it is broken. Yeah, it is going to become a monster. But it’s going to the prettiest and scaled monster of them all.
The character will be an Arcane Caster. It uses CHA and have 2 features per level.
So far, the only features I am certain about picking is the Dragon Shaman’s lv4 and lv6 Breath Weapon (3d6 damage, every 1d4 rounds); and the lv2 and lv5 breath weapon improvements of the Dragonfire Adept.
Will also probably be picking the Dragon Shaman’s lv 6 Touch Vitality, since we don’t have any healers currently.
What do you think? Any suggestions?
