Well, you dont really have to, but I was wondering if anyone else has had as much luck with cars and deer as I have. I was driving down the road about 2 months ago and my car and the deer became quite intimatly acquainted. The deer ran into me, then got up and ran off, but I just got some pictures of my car today because I kept on forgetting about taking pictures.

Note: Some of the pictures are sideways, but right now I am too lazy to fix it. I may do that sometime later, so just turn your head or turn your monitor.

This is just a side view of the car.

A side view of the front fender where it hit (the deer bounced back and hit the back door)

This is where the deer's head hit the hood (the headlight was shattered, but I got that replaced)

Another side view, but from the front this time.

I havent had the money to get any of that fixed (besides the headlight), so it's staying like it is. If you have had any expierences of your own (pictures too if possible) please share!

Now you can put a deer decal on your car. You know, like tally marks on the fighter jets of how many they shot down.

But i always shudder when i see mini-vans with like two adults and a few children decals on them. They must have run over a family. :smalleek:

Oh deer, that is a bit of a problem.

When we get Kangaroos smashing into our cars (Defiantly not the other way around *shifty look*) we have to hop to it and get the car repaired pretty quickly, they can do some damage those critters.

My mum ran into a cow once. So much for the cow, so much for the car...

Where I come from, the car is totalled. The animal just gets up and ambles away. Alaskan moose FTW.

Wait...did the deer hit your car, stand up, hit it again, and then run off? There are two dents :smalleek:

Somewhat funny story. Impressive dents to be made by a deer.

my mom actually had something just as bad happen. She was driving, and there was this buck standing in the road. Being in an 86 (i think, might have been 84) SVO, she didn't wanna hit it (it would hurt the car much more than the deer), so she stopped and blew the horn. The buck turns like it is gonna leave, gets about 10 feet from the car, then turns around and charges it, leaving a large dent and antler scratches in the nice car. needless to say, my mom wasn't that happy.

Deers. Cannon fodder to cars. Attracted to peril. Suicidal bastards they is. Put a horn and headlights on a bullet while hunting, and youll be genociding the whole suicidal species.

I've had two incidents with kangaroos but none with deer so far. The first one was a close shave and I swerved and missed it by a fraction of an inch. The second time my friend was driving and the car did hit a rather large kangaroo. It didn't go well for both parties. Your deer was pretty lucky to have gotten up and run off, but I hope you manage to get your car fixed up soon.

Incidentally, kangaroos (and deer) taste great with black pepper sauce.

I have some macadamia butter and 'roo fillets that I intend to try soon.

The last crash I was in was because my friend, the driver, tried to hit a rabbit. :smallsigh:

I was just driving and the damn thing ran out and hit my fender (face first) then bounced back and hit my back door. I was only going about 45mph, but it still got up and ran off. My step-dad, who is really big into hunting, was showing me exactly where certain parts of the deer hit and other stuff. He said it probably died within the next day or so. If you look closely at the picture of the hood, you will see a small chip missing where the metal is now exposed. That is from the deer's tooth because their antlers aren't that strong this time of year (or so my step-dad said).

years ago, while coming home from school, the bus that was taking me home ran into (or it was the other way around) a wild boar...where I used to live back then there are quite a number of them... large dent in the front of the bus (and it was not a small bus at that)... and the boar ran off.

several times, on the driveway between home and the road (quite a long driveway, more like a private road) I would encounter the same boars over and over again, while walking home...(untill hunting season, that is :smallamused: ) quite impressive animals, when you see them closeup and know that if they charge, they're faster than you..

My mate's dad was driving (mate was riding passenger) down a back road at around midnight in rutting season. They were going about 86 MPH. The vehicle? A deuce-and-a-half. For reference, it's a giant Army truck.

I don't know how they got it up to that speed; I think it might have been the hill they went down a half mile away. What I do know is this: the road for like twenty feet had a layer of red misted over it, on both sides, and my mate's dad was washing the truck when I got there to visit.

There was a story some time ago about the drought being so bad that the camels in the Centre were licking dew off the railroad tracks. The train came along and... yeah. Messy.
The ironic (correct me if I'm using it wrong, please) thing is, the train's called the 'Ghan. After the Afghanis who brought the camels over, and eventually released them.
