Arrow of dusk is a mystery (a weird type of spell) that fires a ray that does 2d4 non-lethal damage, how does that interact with Damage reduction

A creature with this special quality ignores damage from most weapons and natural attacks. Wounds heal immediately, or the weapon bounces off harmlessly (in either case, the opponent knows the attack was ineffective). The creature takes normal damage from energy attacks (even nonmagical ones), spells, spell-like abilities, and supernatural abilities.

It looks like as a magical attack, arrow of dusk completely ignores the target's DR.

Depending on your levels in Shadowcaster, Mysteries function either as arcane spells, SLAs or supernatural abilities. All three of these ignore the rules for damage reduction.

Damage reduction doesn’t reduce the damage from energy attacks, spells, spell-like abilities, and supernatural abilities.

SR will be an issue though, until you can use a Mystery as a supernatural ability...

Arrow of dusk is a fundamental, so it's always a supernatural ability when cast normally. (I think it gets weird if you turn it into an item, but when an actual shadowcaster uses it, it'll be supernatural.)
