Classes reaching level 20

I'm genuinely curious as to what classes and subclasses people have played to tier 4 after starting from tier 1. What characters have people on this board played to level 20 (or at least close)?

Ancients Paladin is the only class I've played all the way through with the same character. Was a single classed half elf dual wielding dex build, pre-Xanathar, a not-super-optimized character for a relatively low challenge game, DM ran relatively few combat encounters per day, so a dual wielding paladin came out looking pretty op. Ancients & defense auras were both big deals, and the character mostly just coasted on smites and auras until the capstone. Playing around with the capstone showed me that I probably could have done some more interesting things with paladin spellcasting before that, though I was honestly pretty happy just smiting for big damage.
