Is there an *official* ruling on what happens to the weight of the gear of a Druid that uses Wild Shape and merges with his gear? The RAW, does not specify anything else than <<Equipment that merges with the form has no effect until you leave the form.>>

Does this implies that having 'no effect', means no weight?

If this interpretation is correct, would it be possible for my Druid to GRAB as much treasure as he possibly can, even exceeding my carrying capacity, then Wild Shape into a bird and fly away with the loot? HEHEHE

Let me know if you found any official ruling on this, THANKS!!

In one of the WotC podcasts of dragontalk Jeremy Crawford describes the equipment going into a pocket dimension. Meaning that weight doesn't matter and you can do what you want to do.
