How useful is the prc in a mad Max style after-the-apocalypse with forgotten tech (modern + 100-200 years of progression) lying about. The costs of the process are quite high for a wizard (2 missed bonus feats, 1 feat spent on getting back level of cl progression, elven racial abilities spent to get the skill focus alternate racial trait. Technologist is useful enough for the knowledge skill monkey that I would probably take it anyway) and I'm not sure how useful the benefits actually are even after reading through them.

Can someone familiar with tech campaigns explain to me how useful the benefits are?

That really depends on how much you want magic vs technology or if you were going to go tech crafting. And only if the DM is into a generous interpretation of Recycle Tech. Main benefit that I can see is crafting stuff without a freakin' artifact. Again tech stuff vs magic crafting. Most of the tech stuff is just more expensive magic stuff anyhoo.
