Hi all,

I'm GM'ing a pathfinder game and next session my party is about to be ambushed by an enemy party. This setting allows nearly every character to obtain an Eidolon as if they were a Summoner of their current level. For enemies, there's no reason I can't just use higher-level monsters in place of custom eidolons, and one of my hopes during the campaign is to cram in as many weird/obscure monsters as I can, since I don't need context, only the understanding that the enemy summoner has a screwed up psyche to conjure that as an eidolon.

Anyways, my point: one character's eidolon is meant to be a creature of pure light, in addition to its stat block. The character themselves if a drow sorcerer who's deep into the Illusion school, but things like alignment don't matter more than CR, which should be between 12 and 14.

I was digging through the bestiary but a lot of names are nonindicative, so I figured I'd just ask. If there's anything from another edition or something that I might adapt, that's fine too. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Off the top of my head (though some of these definitely fall outside your CR range): Lumi, Will o Wisp, Prismatic Golem, Radiant Dragon, Lantern Archon.

...actually, I think PF's Lantern Archon Swarm is CR 11, so that might do it.

Shining Child is CR 12. (https://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/outsiders/shining-child/)

3.5 has the Ghaele (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/ghaele.htm), which can take the form of "an incorporeal globe of eldritch colors". It has Prismatic Spray as an SLA, a light ray attack, and 14th level cleric casting, if you want to give it more blasting options. It's admittedly an Always Chaotic Good Outsider, with abilities that specifically function better versus evil creatures, but it wouldn't be too hard to change that around if you wanted.

Lumi seems like it might have potential. I'll have to find a statblock.

An Adult Radiant Dragon would probably slaughter everyone with the other enemies present. I presume there's a lesser/younger template I can tack on to adjust.

Lantern Archon Swarm might be the winner though. I'll just fluff it to shift into a single mass for certain attacks.

Shining Child is actually pretty on the nose. So is the Ghaele. Both match the kind of tactics that enemy is going to deploy.

Thanks for the responses! I can spitball ideas more easily with those in mind.

A Lurker in the Light (http://aonprd.com/MonsterDisplay.aspx?ItemName=Lurker%20in%20Light) is underpowered for what you are looking for, but they should be easy enough to scale up, if you want. They should be fun in a fight against something that is pure light.

Also slightly underpowered for what you are looking for but Colour out of space (https://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/oozes/colour-out-of-space/) is somewhat color/light themed. Doesn't really play to well with others, but is a huge incorporeal with a bunch of immunities. You can up the CR to 13 using Simple Advanced and Sorcerer Creature (https://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/templates/simple-class-templates/sorcerer-creature-cr-1-2-or-3/) and pick light themed spells. Or add the Nightmare Lord (https://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/templates/nightmare-creature-cr-1/) template if you want to go the other direction.
