Milestone exp rule for first module

Those of you who have done the Lost Mine of Phandelver, I would like to use the milestone exp rule, instead of handing out exp. Where do you think the milestones would be?

From memory the first section, the goblin cave, says to advance players to lvl 2 once they reach Phandelver. IIRC the other sections also suggest when to level or what level your players should be at each point. This should give you a decent guide for when to advance your players.

How many characters? With three they should probably reach 5th level around the time they enter the WEC, if they do a reasonable amount of side quests, with five they should probably only reach 5th near to the end.
