3.P - Dynamic Duo or Buddy Cop Pairings

What two creatures would make the best dynamic duo, buddy cop, master blaster, Biggs and Wedge etc pair?

More specifically I am toying with the idea of a zombie and a golem but since just about any creature can be a construct or undead I decided to expand the pool.

Assume all versions of Awaken are available and that these will be heroic npcs getting up to hijinks either alongside the PCs or as serial encounters.

What pair of creatures would the Playground use?

A goblin and his loyal rust monster steed.

A low-level Paladin and the Succubus who enjoys teasing him and making his life difficult for no real reason, and abuses at-will Ethereal Jaunt to evade consequences. She steps in when necessary to save his butt and prolong his torment. A bit of a cliche, but a personal favorite.

A punch-happy Dwarf and a sneaky Tiefling.

A halfling rogue and his (preferably half-orc or human barbarian) beatstick/hidey-wall/meatshield.
