For my setting I created a religion of moon worshipping philosophers, and the most fitting way to stat their warrior monks feels like being some kind of champion/enchanters with light or medium armor, glaives, and no use of evocations. Enchantments and divinations are their specialities, and they also make good use of abjurations, transmutations, and illusions.

Are there any spells that would be particularly interesting for them that would complement their fighting skills in battle?

If I understand correctly, you're asking for spells for moon worshipping monks. The moon for the most part in 5e is associated with light, magic, and shapchanging.

Cantrips: Light, Primal Savagery
1st level spells: Guiding Bolt, Magic missile (shooting stars, ribbons of moonlight)
2nd level spells: Moonbeam
3rd level spells: Daylight, Dispel Magic, Tidal Wave, Melf's Minute Meteors
4th level spells: Polymorph, Divination
5th level spells: Flame Strike

this is just off the top of my head.
