Xbox 360 wireless adaptor help?

I just recently got an Xbox 360 wireless adaptor, and i'm having a little trouble setting it up. Can anyone help?

Without any information I must start at the beginning, so please forgive me if you already know any or all of these steps.

1) Plug it in, and make the antenna point up.

2) Ensure your wireless router is on.

3) Go to the wireless section under settings, and select the wireless network that you are trying to connect to.

4) Input password if required

5) ???

6) Profit!!!
