Title said it. Wich class is the best summoner? Wizard? Sorceror? Cleric? Druid? Any other? With PrC is good for a summoner?

I like Clerics and Druids for my summoners, personally - I stick mainly to core, however, so outside of that there may be other options. Clerics are nice because the Fiendish/Celestial templates can be good to have available, but Druids (In my opinion) make better summoners because they can do so spontaneously, and have better access to buff spells, like Animal Growth (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/animalGrowth.htm)

Best: A tie between Druid-with-summoning-PrC, and Psion-with-summoning-PrC.

Second place: Druid.

Third place: Psion.

Druids are the best summoners, because they can do this spontaneously, and have access to great buffs for animals.

Clerics with Domain Spontaneity (PHB-II) and the Summoner domain (SC) are also a good option. Also get the Augment Summoning and Imbued Summoning feats (PHB-II and CAdv, I think), and go into the Malconvoker PrC in CScn.

Ain't Doman Spontaneity in Complete Champion?

Druids, because they have more cheese available. Greenbound summoning, Rashimi Elemental summoning (Cone of Cold!), spontaneous summoning, and they get better access to elementals. Also, most of their lower level summons are pretty darn good as well.

In my opinion it would have to be either druids or Clerics of Tritherion (or other gods of that nature).

A good summoner who tricks evil summoned creatures into doing good. Its a hilarious and really good class.

That's the feat. Domain Spontaneity the alternate class feature is in PHB-II, and is generally better.

Yes. I wish to learn more about this Malconvoker. Which book?
And on the subject of funny classes, I still think the Drunken Master takes the cake.

Complete Scoundrel. Also try the Fiendbinder from Tome of Magic in the Truenamer section. Similar flavor, different mechanics.

OK, thanks. I wouldn't know, having only the original complete set.

Good point.

(And yes, it is.)

I think Fiend binder is iffy at best. T0 get into it you have to be able to cast summon monster IV and have to have 10 ranks in true speak, which is a cross-class skill for any non-truenaming class. You also have to make near impossible rolls to make the creatures actually do anything. Flavour wise it cool though, and some of the class features are funky.

Taking the Truespeech Training feat will make Truespeak a class skill, which means you can get in as a cleric at L7. Cloistered Cleric is probably better than regular Cleric for this, though, due to the skill points.

A conjurer using these (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/specialistWizardVariants.htm#conjurerVariants) variants, or at least the first one, deserves honorable mention. The ability to summon without using a full-round action is valuable. Add Malconvoker if you like, or Alienist if you don't value your sanity.

Druids can also make use of the Summon Desert Ally or Conjure Ice Beast spells from Sandstorm/Frostburn, respectively, for a little more variety.

That is a pretty good one...Interestingly, those abilities don't specify that they only apply to wizard-spells. Sweet.

One-level Conjurer dip--for the Rapid Summoning feature--before going into Cloistered Cleric with Domain Spontaneity. Take Animal and Summoning domains. Take Augment Summoning, Imbued Summoning...this could work.
