I've been reading up on the old worlds stuff. Aqueducts. Quants. Wells.

Any good books on this kind of things? Large scale infrastructure or building that makes life easier for everyone?

Quants.

Do you mean by this the use of barges for transport over water? I don't know if I've ever heard or seen the term used this way, but it seems that quant is a synonym for punt, which I have heard. So that's the closest guess I have for what you mean.

Maybe they mean qanats?

I think Accelerator probably means "qanat", a form of underground aqueduct used in the Middle East, possibly invented in ancient Persia. Transliteration from Arabic script is often uncertain.

Well, in that case: Barges on canals and natural waterways are a good example of the sort of infrastructure the OP seems to want.

The books of William R. Corliss seem to be well liked, but I haven't had any experience with them myself. In particular, the OP may be interested in Ancient Infrastructure: Remarkable Roads, Mines, Walls, Mounds, Stone Circles by William R. Corliss.

If you need wells then a shadoof is probably one of the ways you can use it:
