Age of Empires on Vista

Hi, I am an old Age of Empires fan and sometimes just like to play one or two games, design a scenario and stuff, so I was horrified when I noticed it doesn't work on Microsoft Vista. Any advice?

Well Vista has a reputation for not being very backwards compatable.

Check the official site and look for new patches or whatnot.
