Eldritch Blast question

If Eldritch Blast deals damage to both living and unliving matter, is there anything stopping someone from using it to cut through doors, or even to cut through stone walls over time?

Eldritch Blast, by RAW, can only target creatures and not objects. You could decide that the spell simply doesn't function if it attempts to target an object or that it simply does no damage to the object that you targeted.

The specified difference is intentional, as we can observe Fire Bolt allowing both creatures and objects to be targeted.
