i wanna use the ectoplasm bloodline and build a sorceror (straight to 20) that is loaded with utility and some murder death kill fun but i don't know how to explain the bloodline in back story

anyone have any ideas? thank you

my dm already came up with "hello meet my family the Ghostfu**ers"

A pregnant ancestor was grievously ill. While she wished to go peacefully, her husband was too fixated on the family line, and hired a witch to see to prolonging her life and thus enuring the child survived. Well, she did that, using dark, forbidden magics. Under a blood moon, the child was born to a mother suspended between life and death. At the moment of the birth, the spell broke and the mother died with a curse on her lips for the husband, the witch and the child. The husband, suddenly realizing his mistake, put the witch to death. So was fulfilled the first part of the curse. Then he committed suicide. Thus was the second part completed. The third part took the form of a possession. The child was possessed by its mothers spirit, twisted to evil beyond all reason. The child grew, and the child killed. Eventually, the child was hunted and killed by the church, but not before they had a bastard child. The curse was complete, but due to the possession at the time of conception (if the child was male) or birth (if the child was female), a little bit of the mothers spirit lingered. Thus it was passed down the generations, swaying its decedents to have a rather close dealing with death. Many lead short lives. As a sorcerer, you are doubly unlucky. Can you survive long enough to control both your dangerous impulses AND you wild, unbidden magic?

thanks guys! this is way better than anything i came up with... that didnt involve ghostbusters 2 since it doesn't exist in swords and sorcery games lol

now to find a way to make a chaotic neutral aligned character out of all of it... my group never wants to be evil and we have no issues killing party members... its happened enough lol

Why are you trying to be Chaotic Neutral? Is this just the 'I'm playing CE but writing CN on my sheet'? What do you want out of the character, roleplay-wise, that makes CN appropriate?

because its how i think normally and my last campaign went 4 and a half years (i won hard) and i was chaotic good and was forced to become a bigger role player an i wan my next character who is the first time i will go full caster to play easier for me and so i can figure out how it plays as i play it
