Hail ye august Forum-goers!

Which strips do you think are best when you're trying to put forward something to folk who've never read the comic and have minimal gaming experience? Which strips are the most easily "marketable" in terms of plot and punchlines to complete newbies both to OotS and D&D?

Maybe this one (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0031.html)?

Even if you have no idea what Mind Flayer is, it's still perfectly understandable and fun.

I heard someone on the forum say they would show them these ones: 325 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0325.html), 326 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0326.html) and 327 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0327.html)
They're rathwer fun and don't involve much stroyline.

To be honest I just lend the books to my friends and force them to read them.

While it doesn't exactly give an accurate impression of what the comic is actually about, this one (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0301.html) is funny without any need for DnD rules.

What!? That strip is totally in the spirit of any OotS comic - ridiculous humor.

I think that maybe is just better to sit with someone and give them a quick idea of what the strip is about and that's all. I just know D&D basics, yet I still love the comic. If they know and understand a little what RPG is about, they'll do just fine. As for the storyline... just tell them to begin in cast page onwards the last one!!!:smalltongue:

I don't think we have any august forum-goers left... Will you settle for us september forum-goers? :smallwink:

I recently introduced a friend (a long-time gamer-- In fact he's the one who introduced me to D&D) to OotS, and I used the incentive comics (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/Incentives.html), The Benefit of a High Bluff Score (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0008.html), and Math is Fun (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0034.html).

The cast page sounds like a good page to start with, but they might as well start with page 1 and keep on going.

I actually was about to suggest those three; they're wacky, don't have many gaming references, they're creative, and they showcase most of the characters. It's the perfect introduction for people who aren't very familiar with gaming or OotS.
