Like I mentioned in my previous thread, there will be a Dwarven Swashbuckler in my group. I asked about the possibility of a Str-based rogue then in case my player wants to be a more stereotypical dwarf who just fights dirty and with piazzaz.

But i also want to keep his option open, and I was wondering if someone ever elaborated on a "City Dwarf" variant. The sort of dwarf who are more integrated with human societies; like powerful merchant house akin to Warhammer's House of Fooger in Marienburg.

What sort of specific trait would you give them?

I'd likely go with a +1 to Charisma, then doubling the proficiency bonus on Charisma skill checks to interact with humans.

Might try a Dragon Mark of Warding Dwarf from Eberron. +1 Dex, +1 Int for starters. They can belong to House Kundarak or be a renegade that uses their mark for their own gain. Master of Locks, and they get some Wards and Seals spells like Alarm and Arcane Lock.

Oh that looks good.

Seems there's a whole thing around them tho. But I am definetly inkling on something like them.
