We all need a vacation from time to time. In fact, I was sorely tempted to put IA on hiatus for a month just for the break from the administration of the contest. (Hey, Rich took off a bit of time from the comic recently, so I thought maybe I should take a break, too. :smallwink: ) But then it hit me: "Vacations! What a good idea for a contest!" What would it be like if the OotS characters went on vacation? And the Erfworld characters? Where would they go? What would they do? Remember the universe is their oyster; they pay no heed to the fourth wall and seem to be knowledgeable about our world. Maybe they go to DisneyWorld, Ayers Rock, or visit the French Riviera. :smallbiggrin:

Remember: All artwork must be your own. Do not take, alter, or use any of the The Giant's art. Thanks. :smallsmile:

As usual there will be a First through Third place award for each of the following, with trophies by Oblivion:

As usual, I'll be giving the peripatetic Roland’s Choice Award to the avatarist's creation that most appeals to my, admittedly itinerant, sensibilities.

The family drive, possibly to the beach. I recommend the cart ride scenes from the comic (soon before Miko showed up, I believe) for a guide.

Very good first effort. One (minor) suggestion, I'd tip the hat back a little bit on 'Mikandalf', looks a bit too upright.

You may want to put some details in Miko's and Soon's face, and make the characters facing the lake of lava. Shorten the bodies a little, and make the lava a lake, not red and yellow circles. Oh, and draw it bigger, so you can resize it later.

But, Miko's not visiting the 40k universe, she's just dressed up as someone from that universe. I don't know about the other LotR entries, but my one was V visiting Moria, where there would enevitably be a meeting with the Balrog, not implanting V in a big scene from the books.

When I do the voting I avoid voting for the same person more than once in a category unless there is no other choice, but I suspect that other people voting for different ones by the same person results in this sort of thing happening. And well done Bath.:smallamused:

In all seriousness, I'm not inclined to put in arbitrary wins/category limits or anything. Sometimes someone just strikes a chord with what judges are looking for. Let them have their moment. There's always another contest right around the corner. Plus, it's not whether you win or lose. It's how much time you can waste making funny images on your computer-machine.

*Or rather, images of trophies. Which, frankly, I don't actually provide either by drawing or by being the decider. I'm, at most, a single voter on the panel.
