Challenge 33
Chosen of Slaanesh Abaddon has two turns-one at his initiative count, and one at 10 points later.

Chosen Of Nurgle Abaddon regains 10 hit points at the start of each of his turns, so long as he has at least 1 hit point at that time. In addition, unless his body is destroyed, he regains 1 hit point after he has been unconscious for 2d3 rounds due to HP damage. Finally, Abaddon may count as being up to two sizes larger for the purposes of movement in a grapple.

Chosen Of Khorne Abaddon may use Reckless Attack, gaining advantage on all attacks he makes until the start of his next turn, but granting advantage on all attacks made against him for that same time. In addition, he may choose to take a -5 penalty on any attack roll to gain a +10 bonus to the damage roll associated with it. Finally, if during his turn Abaddon kills at least one creature, he may take a second action. (This cannot trigger than more than once per turn, and not outside of Abaddon's turn, such as with an Attack of Opportunity.)

Chosen Of Tzeentch Abaddon has advantage on all saves.

Warmaster All friendly creatures that can see or hear Abaddon and are within 120' gain 16 THP at the start of their turns while Abaddon is conscious.

Actions
Drach'nyen Melee Weapon Attack: +19 to-hit, reach 10', one target. Hit: 4d8+13 slashing damage and 4d10 necrotic damage. Abaddon regains HP equal to the necrotic damage dealt. Finally, the target must make a DC 21 Constitution save or become stunned until the end of Abaddon's next turn.

Talon Of Horus (Melee) Melee Weapon Attack: +18 to-hit, reach 10', one target. Hit: 4d6+12 bludgeoning damage, and Abaddon may make a grapple attempt against the target. While grappled, Abaddon has advantage on all attacks made with the Talon Of Horus against them.

Talon Of Horus (Shooting) Ranged Weapon Attack: +13 to-hit, range 250'/1,000', one target. Hit: 3d8+7 piercing damage.

Extra Attack II Abaddon makes a total of three attacks, in any combination of Drach'nyen, Talon Of Horus, and other attack actions.

Grim Resolve Abaddon ends one effect ongoing on himself, and may spend up to five hit dice. This action may be taken even when he would normally be prevented, such as by being petrified or paralyzed.

Bonus Actions
Attack Abaddon makes an attack, any of Drach'nyen, Talon Of Horus, or another attack action.

Teleport Strike (Recharge 4-6) Abaddon teleports up to 300' and then makes a single melee weapon attack with advantage.

Teleport Abaddon teleports up to 180'.

Reactions
Parry Abaddon increases his AC by 6 against one attack.

Raise Shields Abaddon increases his AC by 3 in response to an attack, lasting until the start of his next turn.

Riposte/Countershot After being missed by an attack, Abaddon may immediately attack back with the Talon Of Horus.

Legendary Actions
Abaddon can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. Abaddon regains spent legendary actions at the start of his original turn, but not after his extra turn.

Attack. Abaddon makes a single attack or other attack action.
Move. Abaddon moves up to his speed.
Teleport (2 Actions). Abaddon teleports up to 120'.

DCR: 625 HP puts him at a DCR of 25, which has an expected AC of 19. +7 is +3 CR, so 28. But he does have Regen, THP, and a few other defensive tricks, so I feel safe bumping that up to 30.

OCR: 53 damage per Drach'nyen attack, and he can make 16 of those per round. That's a DPR of 848... Let's tone it down a notch.

53 damage per Drach'nyen attack, and he can make 12 of those per round. That's a DPR of 636, still DOUBLE what the table accounts for! I don't really want to remove Slaanesh's double-turn, so let me tweak his attacks down a touch.

53 damage per Drach'nyen attack, and he can make 8 of those per round. That's a DPR of 424, which is STILL off the charts, but a little closer. It goes up by about 20 per CR, so call it CR 36 offensively.

Average: 36+30=66, 66/2=33.

CR 33.

So for those who don't know, this is Abaddon:

I suppose if I had to ask one question it would be this - why does he have a bonus to Stealth? :smallconfused:

Also, Nature? Really? Did he take a break from decimating entire worlds to take up horticulture?

He should get a -8 penalty to any rolls against High Elves, because 'es 'armless.

This seems like a bit much, out of context. What kind of game do you see this in (IE, is a "normal" Astartes/CSM level 10/15/20)? Abaddon is a bad dude, but he's not the most one-on-one dangerous being in the galaxy. If he's CR 33, what's a Daemon Primarch got to be like, CR 50-ish?

Yeah, fair. I'll spoiler the original for posterity, and make a weaker version.

Also posted a link to this thread on Dakka Dakka, and the feedback was similar. So clearly I done goofed. :P

Edit: Completed, minus the CR math.

Also, BCB, I know you're new to this forum, but animated avatars are NOT allowed. So I'd just change it to a still image.
