DMG eladrin: do they lose elf weapon training?

I was just looking at the DMG. Can my eladrin rogue use a longbow?

It's a sub race of elves, and all elves get elf weapons.

Yeah they lose their weapons. Those are tied to the subclass. Woulda been nice if they had their own to compensate. :smallannoyed:

I looks to me that a Rogue Eladrin based on page 286 of the DMG is proficient with a longbow, but one made per page 62 of Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes isn't.

Yeah they lose their weapons. Those are tied to the subclass.

Prolly meant subrace. And that's true. Drow get different weapons than high elves, for instance.

DMG Eladrin get weapon training, int, and fey step.

MToF Eladrin get cha and fey step along with an added effect on their step.
