The purpose is to allow regular access to a known Demiplane, in a manner that's not suited for immediate use in combat, without burning an eighth level spell slot in order to do it.

Demiplane Door

4th-level Conjuration

Casting Time: 1 Minute
Range: 30 feet
Components: S, M (a small metal tuning fork worth at least 250GP attuned to the Demiplane. Should someone else acquire this tuning fork, they can then access your demiplane through the use of this spell or Plane Shift (PHB, Page 266). This tuning fork can be created through the use of a Fabricate (PHB, page 239) spell while on the Demiplane. Exact materials used is subject to DM discretion)
Duration: Concentration, up to 10 minutes.

You create a shadowy door large enough to allow Medium creatures to pass through unhindered on a flat, solid surface that you can see within range.
The door leads to a Demiplane that you have previously created through the use of the Demiplane spell (PHB, Page 231).
When cast inside a Demiplane, the door will connect to the location where the character entered the Demiplane. In order to exit the Demiplane anywhere else, a second tuning fork needs to have been previously fabricated and the door can be opened to that fork's location.
This spell can only be used to connect a Demiplane with the Prime Material Plane.

Pros: allows more Demiplane shenanigans! Does not allow a Demiplane Doomsday Cannon to be fired off in a single action!
Cons: allows more Demiplane shenanigans! Also allows said shenanigans to begin at a much lower level assuming the Wizard can get their grubby hands on a Scroll of Demiplane and manages to pass the spell check required for casting a scroll containing a higher level spell than you could otherwise cast (hellloooooo Portent!).

I'd really appreciate some feedback on this idea please. Sorry if bumps are bad.

Medium creatures or smaller
I'd recommend adding the bolded part.
