How would you link spellcasters together so as to have a total power greater than its components, similar to in Erfworld?

Several casters can work together for rituals. Rituals can have effects beyond the scope of most spells.

Elaborate if you would

We making something up, or looking for something to reflavour?

How about, two Spellcaster each uses a spell slot, and you can cast a spell that's a higher level than you normally would. The new spell level is the primary caster's spell slot level + half of the level of the secondary caster's spell slot, rounded up.

So if one 4th Level Spell slot and one 3nd level spell slot is expended, you can cast a known spell as if you had cast it with a 6th Level Spell slot.

You still can't know or prepare high level spells, so this is just for upcasting, so it has limited usefulness.

If you get a high level spell on a scroll, your DM might be able to figure something out to lower the DC, if multiple resources are used. DMs are usually more willing to fudge the rules if a limited resource is used in the process.

It’s actually an idea I got from Erfworld. My idea is that there’s a Psychomancer subclass for Wizards (Think of Erfworld’s Thinkamancer) that has create caster links as a class ability (maybe Lv10). Then, each caster in the link uses up a Spell Slot and the total spell level is equal to:

Average level of all Spell Slots consumed (rounded down) + number of casters in the link, including the Psychomancer

The Psychomancer would require a Lv5 Spell Slot to form a 2-caster link, and higher to let more in on the link.

Crafting? Glyph of warding combining multiple glyphs into a magic circle? It's a minimal homebrew.
