Does anyone else have this thing where they find a monster from the monster manual just too cute to try and murder? For me it’s mimics. I don’t know why but I always feel bad for the guys. They’re just sitting around being a chest and some silly group of adventurers try to pull it’s mouth open. Maybe it’s just me.

"Kobolds are the only race capable of winning a fight solely through determination, their own sense of self-importance, and adorable pluck."
I didn't think kobolds could get any cuter than Deekin had already shown them to be, but 5e proved me wrong! They have PUPPY DOG NOSES NOW!!!

I made a batch of game tokens the other week, and a handful of them were kobolds... only I don't want to throw them at my players as their first instinct is to murderhobo anything that ins't behind a shop counter...

For me it's Cockatrice. I'm new to d&d in general and every type of media I had seen before this depicted them as extremely large and then I play some 5e and learn their the size of a chicken. It's an adorable lizard chicken that is high strung like a chihuahua and I can't help but love them. If they were a beast I would definitely make a druid or ranger who's sole purpose was to befriend and run a cockatrice sanctuary.

You could put them behind a shop counter.

It's not THE RUST MONSTER'S fault the paladins and fighters decided to tromp around relying on a skin made of food to keep them safe! :smalltongue:

Modrons, at least in the monodrone-quadrone range. This illustration from the DMG really doesn't help.

If you are ready to butcher those, you are probably a Despicable Me hater.

I've always had a place in my heart for displacer beasts, back to BECMI
Also http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0210.html didn't help
From ToA: Grigs are just adorable! Of course, so are the Goblins in stacks.

I've never seen Despicable Me, but I agree with you on the modrons! Nordom is one of the best characters in Planescape: Torment!
