Let's play around with 5E's fun saving throw mechanics.
Rainbow Thrash, aka Chromatic Curse, aka Prismatic Death Bob-omb
9th-level evocation
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Self
Components: V, S, M ()
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute
You create six tiny motes of light in your space. They float in the air and orbit you for the spell’s duration. When you cast the spell—and as a bonus action on each of your turns thereafter—you can expend up to two of the motes, sending them streaking toward a target within 90 feet of you. Each mote has a different effect:
Red. The target takes 13d6 force damage, is pushed up to 30 feet in a horizontal direction of your choice, and is knocked prone. A successful Strength saving throw halves the damage and negates the other effects.
Yellow. Choose acid, cold, fire, lightning, necrotic, poison, radiant, or thunder. The target takes 13d6 damage of that type. A successful Dexterity saving throw halves the damage.
Green. The target is struck by a Flesh to Stone spell, without need for concentration on it.
Cyan. The target takes 13d6 psychic damage and is incapacitated until the start of your next turn. A successful Intelligence saving throw halves the damage and negates the incapacitation.
Blue. Choose Dominate Person or Otto's Irresistible Dance. The target is struck by that spell, without need for concentration on it.
Magenta. The target is struck by a Banishment spell, without need for concentration on it.
