I was looking through the Treasure table in the DMG and I noticed something that doesn't seem to add up. For calculating platinum coins, the rolls progress in this order.
Level 1: 1d4x10
Level 2: 2d8x10
Level 3: 1d10x10
Level 4: 1d8x10
Level 5: 1d10x10
Level 6: 1d12x10
Level 7: 3d4x10
Level 8: 3d6x10
Tell me I'm not going crazy here. Level 2 goes from a 10-40 range to a 20-160, and then Level 3 drops to a mere 10-100, and Level 4 is even worse at 10-80! In fact, you have to go all the way to Level 8 to finally get the same maximum amount of coins as Level 2! What on Earth is going on here?
