Would it be terribly unfair to grant sorcs extra spells based on charisma like wizards and such? It feels kind of weird and out of place for them not to AND also no method of gaining more similar to wizard scribing. They already got punished enough with the whole metamagic fiasco. What do yall think?

Take Ancestral Relic (BoED) and make it a custom Runestaff (MIC p224), you'll effectively have all the spells known you could ever want.

Pathfinder's favored class bonuses for humans and a few other races give Sorcerers the ability to learn an absurd number of extra spells.

There's knowstones and whatnot. As long as you allow those, Sorcerers are really good.

Also, Sorcerers don't need a buff anyway. It's the Wizards who need a nerf.

In the Revised Bestiary of Krynn, you can find the Ambient Tempest PrC, page 118. This fantastic PrC enables you to swap at least one learned spell every week. That's not all. It also enables you to apply metamagic feats without extending casting time. That's not all... You can cast a spell from a spell slot one level lower if you halve either its duration, its range or its numeric effect. These last two abilities can be used as many times as you want, there's no daily limit.

The Dragon Compendium also has bloodline feats, each of which adds a bunch of spells known to a sorc/bard or other spontaneous caster. These are specific spells, but are in addition to the ones you choose per the PH / SRD.

Mage of the Arcane Order has been mentioned a bit in some sorcerer threads recently: the spell pool allows you access to a wide variety of spells. Will require Arcane Preparation in addition to the other reqs.

most times it would be fine; especially if your players are inexperienced and can't really pick the right spells. unless the party consists in a skilled sorceror and everyone else tier 5, in which case the sorceror won't need any help.

Oooh nice. I want to build one with metaphysical spellshaper. Would make a fantastic meta magic user.

Yeah, I think it's legit. Do it like bonus spell slots.

Compare it to Pathfinder's Human FCB.
