So I remember a small section in a book about altering dragon eggs with magic, does anyone know what book I am thinking of? Its been driving me crazy for a week now.

Was it a Dragonlance campaign book? Altering dragon eggs is how the draconians are made, they're a centerpiece to the whole campaign lore. Humanoid dragonspawn hatched from captured eggs.
