I know that Pixies can cast spells through the use of their pixie dust. If a human were to come into contact with that dust, what would be its effects?

The spells it can cast are as follows, all of which they only need their pixie dust as a component:

At will: Druidcraft
1/day each: Confusion, Dancing Lights, Detect Evil & Good, Detect Thoughts, Dispel Magic, Entangle, Fly, Phantasmal Force, Polymorph, Sleep

That that description, it sounds like a sprinkling of pixie dust is like an expendable focus in that it just replaces other (material?) components, so it wouldn't necessarily do anything (just like other components and foci don't).

But my gut feel for effects if looking for inspiration would probably be the old Zelda games.

There's pixie dust as a consumable magic item in Storm King's Thunder.

There's a list of spells, all thematically appropriate. Roll a die. 1d0, result is the spell in the order they are listed. Elves and other creatures with Fey Ancestry are more in tune and may roll twice, taking their choice.

When a humanoid sniffs the dust they trip balls.

I rather like this result I found. My Players have been friends with a Pixie for almost two months now, so I guess they may get a chance to witness some wing action.

Thanks! I’ll be using this!
