Playing Magus

Ok, this is my first time playing a magus, and I chose the close range to change spells like Scorching Ray and Snowball, and want to use the spell strike to cast the spell into the sword...

Now, with my amazing rolls, ie I struggle to roll higher than a 10... Miss with the attack, does the spell remain in the blade or would it dissipate??

Close Range specifies they work as touch spells, so you can hold the charge.
