This is only for truly hardcore readers with very good memory.
What would be a Belkar with permanent effects of Crushing Despair and Owl Wisdom?

Exactly like what he was with a temporary effect of Crushing Despair or Owls Wisdom, only unending?

He’d be very nice and very sad?

Constantly trying to heal, to stop others from feeling pain as he does?
Probably dual wielding cure whatever wounds wands right now

Someone looking for a spellcaster who knows Remove Curse. Owl's Wisdom might be nice (although genre savvy Belkar would realize the comedy value he brings, much like dead Roy mentioned the punchline value (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0490.html) of his snark), but permanent magical depression would suck hard and you'd absolutely want to see if someone could deal with it.

Let's go with just Owl's Wisdom, in which case Belkar becomes...a normal Ranger. After some time, he'd probably drop the pacifism (nature of the job after all), but he'd become a more traditional Ranger. That said, there's a chance that he'd just be a subpar Ranger instead of a..."unique snowflake"; his stats are probably kind of iffy (not a D&D expert though, can't say for sure). Certainly far less impulsive and depending on when it happened could possibly alter the entire path of the plot.
I feel like if Belkar was slightly smarter he would have gotten the Ranger levels needed for Dual-Wield, then patchwork it into an almighty slaughtering build. As is he's a slightly defunct build being what appears to be a DPSing Ranger with horrid WIS/INT (and meh Charisma) who is literally only good at stabbing things. If he'd been a dual-wielding Barbarian or something maybe he'd be better?

He wouldn't be Belkar anymore.
Also, he'd probably cry when he saw Durkon die. Twice. (Thrice)

He would be someone who violated and lose his identity. Not a good thing.
What are the odds that Belkar’s current arc leads him to drop a point into WIS, and we see him casting a spell for the first time in 1000 strips?
