I'm thinking of doing a halfling Fighter 4/ Sorcerer 2/ Abjurant Champion 5. Now I know that I want to do either Eldritch Knight or Spellsword next, but I'm not sure which. So help me decide. Or, if there's an even better PrC then what is it?

There is. One-level martial adept dip, and then go into Jade Phoenix Mage. Mm-mm. Emerald Immolation.

Alternatively, Knight Phantom (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20050706a&page=4), though it's Eberron specific.

If you wanna grab both, spellsword 1 is nice, then EK X. This progresses your saves, spells, BAB, and gives you the ability to wear mith chain shirt with no penalty. You only lose 1 more level that advances spells as you move into EK.

But.. Fax.. I'm pretty sure I counted 11 levels already.. So the OP cannot get Emerald Immolation, as it's a capstone ability, ya?

I really like the look of the JPM. Still, if there's something even better out there...

Ack! I r pwnt. Knight Phantom definitely is my recommendation, then.

I have this strong urge to recommend a change in the level distribution.

No... must resist...

Eldritch Knight is simple, gives you 9/10th spellcasting, and full BAB.

Don't get me wrong, I really like JPM, it's the only class that's ever made me want to actually use a weapon.. but we have to work with what we're given, not... y'know, reinvent the OP.

Which is, of course, why I'm attempting to resist that urge.

Maybe more of spellsword if you want channel spell...I would have proposed bladesinger but its a halfling not an elf...Maybe initiate of the sevenfold veil or fatespinner would be nice? Maybe instead of a PrC you can take a few duskblade levels...interesting abilities they got...

Question? Do any of the Specialist Sorcerers cast Haste? Warmage or Beguiler maybe?

Warmage can take it with Eclectic Learning, I think.

Beguiler can cast Haste, IIRC. (@Fax: isn't Warmage Advanced Learning supposed to be Evocation-only? And Haste is Transmutation.)

To the OP: I still think JPM is a good choice even if you won't get its capstone ability. (You wouldn't for a long time, anyway.) But a 1-level dip in Spellsword is good, too, and then maybe Swiftblade?

Beguilers also have both haste and slow on their lists.

That's Advanced Learning. Eclectic Learning lets you learn ANY spell, but at one level higher than normal.

Well, thanks people. I'm probably doing JPM since the campaign I'm planning on using this in isn't an Eberron campaign.

Totally unrelated... Is eclectic Learning a Feat, or Warmage Specific?

Eclectic Learning is a Warmage alternate class ability, replacing Advanced Learning.

Knight phantom is NICE...even nicer with battle caster feat from complete arcane...now you can also wear medium armor*smile*anyone have any ideas how to get him to be able to wear heavy armor?talk about a tank then...armored destruction...maybe not how logic ninja imagined it since you lose 2 spellcasting levels, but no bad nevertheless...If you go epic spellsinger would probably be the way to go...

Well, mithral armor is considered one category lighter than normal, so with you could already wear mithral full-plate. No shields, though, but you could go to town with a two-handed weapon (Power Attack, etc.) and also take the feat Somatic Weaponry. I think it's from PHBII, and if I remember correctly lets you cast spells while your hands are full.
