So, my game group has expressed an interest in trying Eberron. Fine, said I, but I need to do some research first. I've previously read the campaign setting and glanced over a few of the other books and a few articles, but I have time to read more, that's not the problem.

The main problem is what to run. I like to use premade adventures as at least an outline for what I'm planning, since I'm kind of really, really bad at writing my own adventures. So, the question basically boils down to:

What premades are there fore Eberron? Or which premades could easily be adapted to Eberron? I know there's a few adventures written for it, but I don't know any of them. How are they? Any that aren't too combat heavy, my party is not especially fond of long dungeon crawls?

There's a mini-adventure included in the ECS book itself. It was followed by a series of three linked adventures: Shadows of the Last War (https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/3739/EBERRON-Shadows-of-the-Last-War-(35)), Whispers of the Vampire's Blade (https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/28712/Eberron---Whispers-of-the-Vampires-Blade), and Grasp of the Emerald Claw (https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/28587/EBERRON-Grasp-of-the-Emerald-Claw-35?cPath=9730_9738). It's been awhile since I looked at any of them, but my recollection was that Whispers was the least combat-focused of the series.

There are at least two other Eberron adventures: Voyage of the Golden Dragon (https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/29618/EBERRON-Voyage-of-the-Golden-Dragon-35?cPath=9730_9738) and Eyes of the Lich Queen (https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/54343/EBERRON-Eyes-of-the-Lich-Queen-35?src=also_purchased). I don't know anything about those two other than the fact that they exist, though.

There was also a free online Eberron mini-adventure called Jungle Secrets, which I think was a web enhancement for Secrets of Xen’drik.

Eldan, I have run all of these and they are quite fun. 137ben is correct that Whispers is the least combat-focused. It also has like, zero connectivity storyline-wise to the others. The one in the ECS is short and "kind of" a dungeon crawl. Shadows is totally a dungeon crawl, gets players travelling through the Mournland, and has a very unique and interesting dungeon to go through. But most of it is a dungeon. Whispers is kind of a chase (including lightning rail fight) mixed with some social play, and finally confronting the eponymous vampire. And Grasp is excellent, get a ride in a magic submarine, takes players to Xen'drik, there's a sort-of-dungeon (it's large in size because it used to be a giant edifice, but it's not like most of the adventure is a staright crawl), and answers -at least in part- some stuff about warforged.

I bought those, but read them so long ago that I remember very little. I want to say that Eyes goes into some stuff with the Draconic Prophecy, but that's all I can remember.

Eldan, as someone who loves Eberron deeply, I would suggest asking your players what kinf od game they'd like to run. You may not want to do the prepublished ones. If they are focused on the noir/mystery/intrigue kinds of aspects anyway. If swashbuckling adventure seems more their thing, then a campaign in the Lhaazar Principalities might be the thing. Or an exploration-focused campaign in Xen'drik (they could be hired by house Tharash to help prospect dragonshards). If they kind of like a little bit of all of it, and want an experience that's a good segue from "core" D&D to Eberron, then I highly advocate for the prepublished modules. But if your players are not fond of dungeon crawls, they may not go for it.

Dditional Eberron advice:
Look into Races of Eberron, there's some great stuff in there for all the races. In addition to extra stuff for the 4 new races, there are some variant rules (like how Valenar Elves trade normal weapon proficiency for scimitar, shortbow, and Valenar double scimitar), and even some neat feats and things for the PHB races (dinosaur options for Talenta halfings, anyone?). After that, the next books I most highly recommend are Dragonmarked, Five Nations, and Sharn: City of Towers (especially if your campaign is going to be there at any point, there's so much there to help flesh out the city and make it feel unique and amazing). If no one's going to play a dragonmarked character, you can probably give that book a skip, but there's still great background info on all the Houses. Five Nations, however, is amazing. So much from each nation. As far as other books to recommend, I believe Faiths of Eberron has a borderline OP Prestige Class for Clerics of the Sovereign Host (Sovereign Speaker or something), but also some good info on all of Eberron's religions. I have every Eberron book in print, and I can tell you that I only recommend the Secrets of Xen'drik/Sarlona and City of Stormreach if your campaign is going to actually go there. The Explorer's Handbook has a few neat feats and prestige classes, but is mostly about travel and exploration (hence the name), and isn't really all that special. Forge of War was a great read. Filled in so many details about the Last War, but I don't recall anything feeling particularly useful for a campiagn, unless that campaign was going to be heavily war or history focused. Dragons of Eberron didn't feel particularly useful to me, but if your campaign ever goes to really high levels, having the PCs go to Argonessen could be a neat move, and then the book becomes invaluable (there's some stuff for Khorvairian dragons, but it's "meh"). And I don't remember Magic of Eberron. I believe there's some good stuff for artificers in there, though. So if someone's playing an artificer, that book explands their options enormously.

Sorry for the huge block of text, but if your players don't like dungeon crawls, then I thought I'd give you advice on which books were best to look into for additional inspiration to write your own plot and storyline.
