Wizards win, most of us get it. There is no point in waxing on about that. So, if Wizards are Batman, then the limited, yet still similar Sorc fits the bill of Robin perfectly. What should Robin be doing to assist Batman aside from taking levels in Incantrix as early as possible and cheesing out his Spellcraft as hard as he can? What are Batman's weaknesses, and can Robin cover them to make a true dynamic duo in a party?

Metamagic Specialist Sorcerer 8/Fatespinner4/Archmage 5 sounds nice. Add in a couple of levels of MotAO for some spellcasting versatility, maybe, but the wizard should have that covered. Anything the wizard hasn't prepared can be duplicated via the sorcerer's Limited Wish at higher levels, so MotAO isn't strictly necessary, IMHO.

Sorcerers should focus on generally useful spells, thus Robin be able to toss out Save or X spells (Heightened Disintegrate; now with new Fatespin points added to the DC!) , do crowd control (tenticoo wape!), direct damage (Orb of Force ftw) utility, and serve as the face (You don't need to see his identification).

Robin is Batman's Improved Familiar.

A Batman wizard's major weakness is that his strategy discourages him from from using blaster spells, and he is unlikely to have a proper spell ready to counterspell magical attacks. Because of this, a sorcerer in the same party should have dispel magic and greater dispel magic as a matter of course to keep an enemy caster off his back, as well as any attack spells deemed necessary to deal with anyone else.

Robin's more of a Beguiler, I'd say. Less versatility, more inclined to kick things in the face, relies on tricks and misdirection in combat...

As far as Sorcerers in general, I've had very good luck with area Save-or-Die spells, Heighten Spell and Rapid Metamagic.

To compliment a Wizard? Probably by focusing on the spells that are always useful in combats (Haste/Enlarge Person/Black Tentacles/Enervation/Polymorph if your group's into that sort of thing).

Robin is a monk. A couple kung-fu tricks, doesn't really contribute anything to Batman, certainly doesn't do anything Batman can't do better, and remains completely useless to everyone and an eyesore all around.

God, I hate that kid.

Completely depends on the Robin. Tim Drake's probably an int-maxed Rogue/(modified) Justicar. Doesn't kill things, not the best fighter, lots of skills (especially investigative).

**** (edit - Oh, censor. RICHARD) Grayson would be a full BAB type, not sure which, with primarily physical stats. Fighting things is generally his main forte.

Jason Todd would be... irritating.

Of course, if you just mean who would be the best complement to a Batman wizard, then surely it would be ANOTHER Batman wizard?

Jason Todd would be... a bard.

Robin is a monk.

I take that as an insult to the monk community. Robin fails at the one thing monks can do. Stay alive. I don't care how much monks suck, Robin is worse.

You have my humblest apologies. I take it all back.

Robin is a Commoner with Improved Unarmed Strike as his human feat.

Robin the Sorcerer should focus on foiling the BBEG's plan through creative counterspelling.
