Inari, the Weaver of All Stories, hears the call of the Creator and is drawn to the Mysterious Land. At first it seems empty and barren but then Inari senses that something is buried below the ground. Something powerful. Images from the previous world flash before her mind's eye - it's large deposits of Eternium, the mysterious metal of the gods that's hidden there. And she sees it's potential; artifacts made from Eternium could make Kings --- or make Kings fall.

With a wide sweeping gesture she summons the Eternium from its grave. And in doing so she makes the earth shake and grumble and creates a high mountain range that rises and changes the shape of the land as far as the coast to the north. And when the earthquakes stop Inari looks at the peaks of the Black Mountains ans smiles. One seed for a story is already planted...

------------------------

"Even small amounts of Eternium Ore change the color of surrounding rock for miles to a darker color, but due to the reach of the ore's aura that doesn't make it much easier to locate a vein inside the rock let alone mine it. And while the ore itself is almost completely black, after smelting and magical refinery the Eternium metal has a distinct opal-like sheen to it. [...]

All of this means that it takes years to get enough of the metal to create a single piece of armor or even a blade made of Eternium. But any sword that is made of the god metal is sharper and any armor is more protective than any one made of steel or lesser magical metal. In fact, depending on the shape and function of item, the metal seems to improve the wearer's abilities in such a way that fits the very nature of the artifact. For example the Diadem of the Wise makes the wearer a better ruler while the Staff of the Herald improves their ability to lead and inspire armies."
- from the Forbidden Tome of Alchemy

From Verdant grasslands in the centre of a great continent (M10) a great figure strode forth. Astride a red Stallion the King of the desert emerged. Where his first steed Moullou strode the grass withered and died, where the Sultana looked the Sun intensified roasting the air to an intense heat. All around the world turned to sand and winds except for a single oasis. The beast spirits within the land awoke and took on new forms, those of the serpent and the scorpion. The jackal and the wild horse, the camel and the hawk.

A single point of that original fertility remained. An oasis, there crawling from the interior came humanoids in Meghdasen own form. They were the Orac-kasha’s Dami or people of the oasis. To the world outside though, they would be known as the orcs.

They crawled onto the dry sands from the interior of the oasis and breathed deep lungfuls of the desert air. Sandy brown skin exposed to the world. Medghasen looked down and judged them sufficient, though time alone would tell if they were worthy of survival in this place. Unwilling to spoil them, he simply turned his steed and rode off to observe from the Dunes.

Actions: Create Race: 22-2 for Fertile Crescent =20

The orcs, or as they would name themselves Orac-kasha (the people). They were formed to survive and to fight, created to be reseloute and stubborn refusing to die under most conditions. They would eventually take on many lands and many cultures but for now were Semi-nomadic hunters amons the plains.

Shape Climate: 2: Area around M10 become hot and dry.

High above the nascent world, bound in a tight orbit, Empyrea found the first of her Children. His rocky surface was silvery-white, causing him to shine brightly with reflected sunlight. From the outside he seemed placid, but inside Empyrea could feel his mute panic at the prospect of spending eternity bound to this new world, close enough to be trapped forever, but far enough away that no one would ever hear his cries.

Empyrea whispered to this bright moon, calming him with promises that he would nevermore be alone, explaining how she would teach the inhabitants of this new world to commune with him and make use of his radiance, hinting at his importance in the shape of things to come. And she named him Lux.

True to her word, Empyrea reached down from the heavens towards an ancient place of power, wresting it from the ground until it towered far above the lands below, high enough to pierce any cloud. At the top of the new peak she reshaped the place of power to her own ends, forming a deep crater filled with water, on whose uncannily-still surface Lux would be reflected in all his majesty. Any who managed to climb the formidable peak and contemplate the summit lake would learn to commune with Lux, who would then instruct them in basic methods to harness and manipulate his radiance. Wordlessly, she let it be known amongst the other deities that this location would be open to all, and she would brook no hoarding of the lake or its knowledge.

Turning her gaze back to the heavens, Empyrea saw more orphans in need of her aid, each of whom would also need some way to commune with the denizens of the new world. In preparation, she raised another mountain so high that it too would forever be above the clouds, with a clear view of the skies.

*Radiant Lake Details
Any Civilization, City, or Order that is Commanded to undertake an expedition to Radiant Lake, and that has at least one advantage relating to mountaineering (e.g. tools, strength, skill, etc.), can reach the lake and learn to communicate with Lux. This gives that Civilization, City, or Order knowledge of Lunar Magic (Radiance).

Lunar Magic (Radiance) Details
This magic can be used to shape Lux's radiance into bright beams of moonlight for illumination, distraction, or visual communication. The effects of Lunar Magic (Radiance) are currently limited to the same square as the practioner, but Lux might teach more-advanced techniques to those who additionally master optics and mathematics. This magic counts as an advantage in combat and for other situations where it would logically be helpful (e.g. extra light for growing crops). However, due to the effects of weather and Lux's orbit, Lunar Magic (Radiance) is not always available. An attacker can choose to attack at a time when Lux is in the sky and the weather is clear, permitting both sides to make use of any Lunar Magic (Radiance) they know, or may choose to attack when Lux is unavailable, denying Lunar Magic (Radiance) to both sides. In situations where the weather and orbit of Lux is uncertain, Lunar Magic (Radiance) is available in a square on a roll of 5+ on 1d10 (3+ in Desert and Arctic climates, 7+ in Tropical climates). Lunar Magic (Radiance) is not available underground. Lunar Magic (Radiance) can only be learned by communication with Lux and cannot otherwise be taught.

Shape land x 3 = 9 pts - Scardale Hills

Artefact 10pts - The Well of Stars

5 pts remaining

The Scardale Hills

Legend has it that this was the place where, in times that came before, the fallen stars struck the world, causing the Silence in High Places, and the Days of the Grey Sun.
This deeply pockmarked series of hills and valleys has the mixed geology of a glacial landscape, but with none of the smooth curves or u-shaped valleys. In their place worn and uneven hills are scored with hundreds of narrow valleys, all dead straight and running westwards and slightly to the south.
Some are tiny, their course filled in by later rockfalls, or skipping across the tallest hills while others score deeply through the hills, forming steep-sided valleys. Some even tunnel deep under a hill or ridge, never to emerge.
The valleys get deeper towards the far west, around the area known as the World Wound, a great rift in the rock some five miles long, and in places almost a mile wide. Its depth is not known.
Towards the east the hills get softer and less jagged, creating the area known as Scatterlight Bay

The Well of Stars

Embedded near the top of one the larger uneven hills near Scatterlight Bay is the Well of Stars, a large pit inside of which can be seen a field of stars against inky blankness. While it makes sense that this might be some reflection of the night sky above, it appears so even during the day, and the stars it shows do not precisely match the stars above. This is place of prophecy and with right power, visions of strange far off places can be seen. Without extensive practice and knowledge however, the visions are often without context and largely worthless.

Afterwards Inari summoned a spring in the Southern peaks of the Black Mountains. The icy cold water cascaded down in waterfalls and together with melting glacier water formed a river that was flowing north towards the coast, first rapidly and wild and later slow and meandering. And where the "Melody" - was flowing into the sea it formed a treacherous river delta that changes beds every spring season.
