Boots, legging, jacket and gloves in flexible leather. Straps of hard leather ( boar rind hardened in boiling oil ) sewn on the external upper legs, upper arms, shoulders and abdomen. Helmet in rigid leather ( three layers, hardened in boiling oil ) with some linen padding to blunt impacts. Thick linen scarf hardened with water and salt to protect throat.

So:

Bonus to AC-
Penalty to skills-
Class ( light, medium, heavy )-
Weight-

No, it's heavier than leather.

It's leather armour. D&D doesn't care how much leather you pile on, it's still leather armour.

GURPS probably does this sort of thing better.

It's exactly leather armor. Standard D&D leather is explicitly boiled in oil to make hardened pieces for the torso at least, plus often hard leather plates on other portions. Studded leather is all soft leather, relying on the metal studs to improve AC. If it were a soft leather suit with no studs, I would have it count as padded for all purposes other than description.

Definitely just leather armour. Soft or flexible leather isn't typically armour at all.
