Topaz dragon breath weapon

The breath weapon of the topaz dragon is without type. That's great for the dragon, but I feel it is a little unfair to PCs. Am I wrong? If I'm not, what damage type would make sense to assign do you think?

For reference, the topaz dragon is in the MM2 pp. 85-87.

I'm AFB so correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Topaz Dragon the one with dehydrating breath? Personally I'd rule it as dessication damage, which was introduced in Sandstorm, years later than the MM2.

There are some defenses against it, though they aren't as common as energy resistance

Looks like it's based on Horrid Wilting to me. That doesn't have a type in the PHB, but p.15 of Sandstorm says that it's considered desiccation damage, so I'd say Heavyfuel is right.
