Level Prerequisites

This could be a silly question, but for eldritch invocations that say you need to be lvl 15, or 9, or 7 before use, is that warlock level, or player level? Same question for when you get more beams for eldritch blast. Do I get 2 beams at 5th warlock level, or 5th player level?

For Eldritch Blast it is character level, for Eldritch Invocations it is Warlock level.

Cantrips always use character level, class features always use class level.

To expand on that a bit, whenever anything in a class says "level", it always means "level in that class".

But a spell isn't a class feature, as made evident by the fact that you can get a spell without any particular class (for instance, by taking the Magic Initiate feat). So a spell can't be based on your class level, so the only "level" it could be referring to is total level.
