I'm looking for some clarification on the Warforged racial ability Integrated Protection. Specifically, how it interacts with other game features that reference armor.
There are three modes of Integrated Protection to choose from:
Darkwood Core (unarmored)
Composite Plating (armor) Requires Medium Armor Proficiency
Heavy Plating (armor) Requires Heavy Armor Proficiency
So now, the questions:
Is Integrated Protection, specifically Composite and Heavy, which bear the (armor) tag in their description and have medium and heavy armor proficiency requirements, considered to be actual armor?
1: Is it considered "while wearing armor" for the purposes of the Defense fighting style?
2: Is it considered a "non-magical object that is a suit of armor" for a Forge Cleric's Blessing of the Forge?
3: Is Heavy Plating considered "while wearing heavy armor" for a Forge Cleric's Soul of the Forge ability?
4: Is it considered a "manufactured metal object" for the purposes of a Heat Metal spell?
If Integrated Protection is not considered to be armor, then do the following apply?
5: Can Bracers of Defense be worn with Composite and Heavy Plating?
6: Can a Barbarian Rage while using Heavy Plating (assuming they have heavy armor proficiency)?
7: Can a Monk use Martial Arts and other similarly restricted abilities while using Composite or Heavy Plating (again assuming they have the proficiency to use it)?
