Is it possible to take an attact action then ready regular movement?

Something like, "I attack the Kobold in front of me and if more charge I'm going to flee before they surround me".

No. Ready is an action, even if you're readying movement.

Well, it *is* possible with Action Surge or Haste, but I guess that doesn't count.

I'm going to say no because if you could, that would actively defeat the purpose of the Scout Rogue's 3rd lvl ability.

Not even. "on your turn"

Interesting. Thanks for pointing me down the right path.

Here is what was tripping me up. P193 PHB:

"READY
Sometimes you want to get the jump on a foe or wait for
a particular circumstance before you act. To do so, you
can take the Ready action on your turn so that you can
act later in the round using your reaction.

First, you decide what perceivable circumstance
will trigger your reaction. Then, you choose the action
you will take in response to that trigger, or you choose
to move up to your speed in response to it. Examples
include "lf the cultist steps on the trapdoor, I'll pull the
lever that opens it," and "If the goblin steps next to me,
I move away."

When the Trigger occurs, you can either take your
reaction right after the trigger finishes or ignore
the trigger. Remember that you can take only one
reaction per round."

Combined with Page 192 which states "Ready" is a Combat Action I'm not thinking you can not take an Attack Action in combat & a ready action as Jack Phoenix says.

It does appear you can Ready movement though assuming you have not taken another action.

And Skirmisher:
"SKI RM IS H E R
Starting at 3rd level, you are difficult to pin down during
a fight. You can move up to half your speed as a reaction
when an enemy ends its turn within 5 feet of you. This
movement doesn’t provoke opportunity attacks."

I don't think moving as a readied reaction makes this obsolete. It sounds like Skirmisher gives you additional movement which you have no need to ready.

Not even. "on your turn"

You can use action surge on your turn to ready an action or, failing that, use your action surge to attack and your normal action to ready an action. As for haste, you'd have to use the haste action to attack (meaning only one attack if you have more than one) and your normal action to ready an action.

Right, I misread the OP.
As long as readying is only movement it works.
