A couple of months ago I was thinking about whether Solars and Planetars have any XP for their innate spellcasting, since that abilities do not come from class levels, and thus they do not have any assumed XP total (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?584846-Do-Solars-and-Other-Monsters-With-Innate-Spellcasting-Have-XP).
Several ideas came from that, among them that deities have around 30,000 XP/week for crafting and granting miracles to their followers. Solars, being among the toughest things that aren't deities, probably do as well.
However, are there any actual rules on how much XP NPCs have in any given period of time to craft magic items and such? Crafting according to the SRD never actually mentions whether NPCs must follow the same rules as PCs, and there are other instances in the game's rules where NPCs are treated differently from PCs, such as if memory serves WBL guidelines for NPC adventuring parties.
This is mostly significant because many if not most NPCs who might be interested in crafting magic items may not be necessarily interested in adventuring and taking on level-appropriate encounters to replenish spent XP the way players are, anyone who had to lose XP to craft items is given heavy incentive to seek some other line of work.
