So artificer has returning weapon. It kind of fixes a throwing build problems involving animation and having tons of magical daggers to throw, or when you find that cool dagger but you can't throw it but you want sharp shooter.
returning weapon would make the dagger magical and have a +1, Also the DM allowing ASI at character level and not class level unless its a special class ASI level like fighter 6. Also assume you have 20 dex, and this character will be getting to 20.

A decent build i came up with
3 gloom / 3 assassin / 2 artificer / 12 fighter
+2 main hand wep from returning weapon and a +1 dagger / +1 offhand wep,

- level 13 3 gloom / 3 assassin / 2 artificer / 5 fighter -
average damage surprise round - 100 / action surge 186
dread ambush - 2d4 + 7 - 5 + 7
dread ambush force damage 2d8 - 9
1st attack - 2d4 + 7 - 5 + 7
2nd attack - 2d4 + 7 - 5 + 7
sharp shooter - 30
hunters mark - 6d6 - 21
sneak attack - 4d6 - 14

level 19 - auto crit avg with action surge - 215
3rd attack 2d4 - 5 + 7
+ 10 sharp shooter
2d6 hunters mark - 7

Can anyone come up with anything better? maybe not even using artificer?

The artificers Arcane Weapon is going to do better than Hunters Mark because you can precast it before combat begins, and because you don't have to reapply it every time you kill a target. This means you're free to use your bonus action for something else, like throwing your offhand weapon.

Notes: you can't put an infusion on a weapon that's already magical, so your returning dagger will always be +1. If you're using the Archery Fighting Style you'll have to use a dart instead of a dagger, though that's largely an academic difference.

Oh thats true, but can't you also pre cast hunters mark and then use your bonus action to throw and trigger hunters mark for the offhand attac. Does arcane weapon do your offhand also?

It's harder to precast hunter's mark and still have surprise: you've got to have line of sight on the other guy, be within 90 feet of him, and cast the spell verbally, which taken together would seem likely to alert your foe. You won't have 3rd level spell slots with this build, so you'll only have the 1 hour version of the spell, so you'll be casting it fresh more often than not.

No, arcane weapon won't apply to your offhand attack.

I dont think you can do this because if you have a +1 dagger you cant infuse it with Returning weapon. I dont think you can infuse an already magical item. Unless, that is, im misreading this +2 you're describing.
