Looking for suggestions. Currently playing a character in a gestalt game. I'm a Warlock and also took the Maester prestige class for the niftiness it imparts. Are there any other prestige classes that would help with crafting? I'll only have about 5 levels to play with as we are higher level already. I know that Artificers are excellent crafters but I don't think that 5 levels of it would really help that much. Any other options?

The Effigy Master is a 5-level construct focused prestige class from Complete Arcane, but you wouldn't be about to enter it with just Warlock since it requires you to have simulacrum on your class spell list.

Lantan artificer, and I recall seeing another one that does candles.

Candle Caster: Tome & Blood. Basically does potion-type stuff, using candles instead of potions, with a few extra perks.

Gnome artificer?

Same as lantan artificer. I should sit down some time and puzzle out a way for it to be good.

Actually, all four entries in that round are beautiful.

You can’t qualify very well as a warlock, but ironsoul forgemaster (Magic of Incarnum) has a nice crafting component to it.

There’s always the classic “two levels of chameleon; swap your floating bonus feat for the crafting feat du jour” trick.

Unfortunately none of these options seem very appealing, but I do appreciate the help.

I guess I'm just gonna add a few levels of something else. Current build is:

side one: Warlock 22
side two: Pixie (+4 LA), Dark template (+1 LA), Enlightened Spirit 10, Occult Slayer 5, Maester 2.

And yes, the DM houseruled that I don't have to be a gnome to take levels in Maester. I guess I'll just top it off with some levels in Rogue for the skill points and extra d6's for sneak attack? I dunno.

If you're epic, there's the Master Arcane Artisan (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ei/20030314a). It requires the ability to cast arcane spells, but if you like it, it might be worth seeing if your DM will let you adapt it for invocations.

Somewhat surprised I didn't see a mention of flesh warper. Its niche, but certainly focuses on crafting.

I personally really like the Renegade Mastermaker. Its 5th/9th level magic item boost is regardless of its current power (TtT), so it is one of the few ways you can legitimately get a +7 weapon in the game.

Ooh! I really like this! I'm gonna run it past my DM.

Oh, nice one, I've saved the link. You're also missing two other epic PrCls, the Celestial Paragon and Void Incarnate:

http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ei/20030418a

EDIT: Oh, and the Warlord of Utterdark as well:

The Void Incarnate is particularly interesting because as far as I know it's the only way to get Improved Mettle as a class feature.

Four levels in Blood Magus from Complete Arcane nets you the Scarification feature (limited Scribe Scroll feat that uses self-inflicted scars instead of ink and paper; can have up to 6 at one time) and the Blood Draught feature (limited Brew Potion feat that uses your bloodstream to store the potions instead of external vials; can have up to your class level + your Con score at one time).

Thank you.

That is interesting. The only other instance of Improved Mettle I know of is using a class with Mettle + the Tabard of Valor and being 1/2 HP or less...

Yeah, I don't know of any other ways.
