Help making a homebrew class

Hey everyone! I'm making a home-brew class based on the dark scholar. We are starting a new campaign and in the last one my character founded a mages guild meant to horde knowledge and ancient magical power. Its all about learning secrets and powers that are exclusive to the guild (The same list as the dark scholar plus a few extras) and I'm trying to decide on a cool but also fitting capstone ability for the class. I haven't been able to think of anything that would work and would love any ideas.

You'll want to ask in the Homebrew forum instead. We can help you building a character based on that theme with what's available already, but for creating a class, you're better off there.

Just as an aside, you can look at classes like Loremaster (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/prestigeClasses/loremaster.htm), Tainted Scholar (HoH) and Paragnostic Apostle (CC) who have similar abilities, for inspiration.
