Hello all,

I need sort of a forum poll on what I should be for an upcoming game I am in.

for now im settled on a Lizardfolk

But either a Death Cleric or Spore Druid....

i just can't decide, i like both concepts and the RP would be similar. so im looking to you call for assistance!

convince me what you think i should steer towards

I'm going to ask the default questions

What is your play style? Magic user, melee, support, healing?
What other classes are in the party?
What is the campaign or the setting?
Are you looking for fun RP or more interested in optimization?

I'll say i mix it up, little bit of melee and magic(ranged)
not sure yet
starting at 1 going to...hopefully a long time. homebrew adventures in forgotten realms
a bit of both. the rp of death cleric and spore druid are somewhat similar with raise dead and necrotic damage. and light optimization with hopefully no multiclassing

Differences between:
Combat focused spell list
Specially designed for healing, buffing and support
-----AND-----
Exploration focused spell list
Specially designed for Area of Effect/control spells, scouting and healing.

Single target damage focus
More emphasis on burst damage than survivability.
-----AND-----
Area of Effect damage focus, works best against swarms
More emphasis on survivability than damage

So I'd just review those and see what sounds best for you. Do you want a semi-tank that's good for exploration and scouting, or do you want a single target boss slayer that buffs allies?
